Director, Biological E. Limited (BE)
Biological E is one of the leading suppliers of vaccines to the National Immunization programme for close to 40 years. Today BE is a significant partner to the Gates Foundation and through this alliance and UNICEF, exports vaccines to over 60 countries. This year, more than 65% of Government of India requirements are to be supplied by BE.
Mahima Datla directly oversees strategic operations within the organization and leads the work related to public policy. She has been working with BE for the past 17 years and has served in various capacities across a diverse range of functions, including Biotechnology & Projects; Operations and Strategic Business Development. She is a graduate of Webster University, London with a degree in Business Administration Management.
Apart from Biological E, Mahima has served on the steering committee of DCVMN (Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers Network) and is a member of FICCI and CII National Biotech committees. She has been on the board of GAVI from 2011 to 2014, the Vaccine Alliance and the largest funder of Immunization with over a budget of 7 billion dollars. She is currently a GHIT (Global Health Innovative Technology) fund board member, which is a Japanese government innovation healthcare fund for improving global access to healthcare.
